Did an 'A-List Dallas' Actor Taylor Garrett Fake an Attack Against Him by 'Anti-Republican' Gays?

Alistrock

Late last week, Taylor Garrett, a reality show participant in LOGO's A-List: Dallas, tweeted a photo of a rock with a note on it and claimed that he was the victim of an anti-GOP attack by someone defending the gay community.

The tweet, since deleted, came following LOGO's decision to feature Republican pundit Ann Coulter in a guest spot on the show.

LOGO's NewNowNext wrote, of her participation:

Garrett Politics aside, kind of, Coulter joined some of her fave boys, specifically Dallas cast member Taylor Garrett and Jimmy LaSalvia of GOProud, for a late lunch, and some reality show filming, in LA yesterday. It is unsure when Coulter’s episode as a Logo guest star will end up airing, but there is no doubt there will be some rumblings and controversy as a result.

Blogger Joe Jervis wasn't convinced that Garrett's tweet and claim passed the smell test and noted that LOGO executive producer John Hill shortly thereafter tweeted congratulations to Garrett for "making headlines" with his claim.

Jervis adds:

When I questioned Hill as to whether he'd played a role in the stunt, his tweet to Garrett was instantly deleted.

Neither Hill nor Logo have yet responded to my questions. I understand all too well that gay people are not above the depths of scumbaggery typically associated with producing reality television, but a false hate crime claim is truly beyond the pale. At the very least, Logo and the show's producers should address what some are (hopefully wrongly) thinking.

As you may recall, GOProud's LaSalvia claimed to be the victim of an anti-gay hate crime last July, though his claims lost much of their credibility when he began using them to push GOProud's pro-gun, anti-LGBT hate crime legislation agenda.

An online petition objecting to LOGO's decision to give airtime to Coulter has 1,168 signatures as of this posting.

Ann Coulter Defends Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Coulter The Republican Party's true face was revealed at last week's presidential debate when the right wing crowd booed a gay soldier for asking how the GOP candidates would deal with the recently repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

While most rational people, including President Obama and his colleagues, were appalled by the display, conservative darling Ann Coulter apparently thinks such hate is a-okay.

From Coulter's latest column:

It is beyond absurd to demand that Republican candidates pledge not to consider altering a recent rule change overturning a military policy that had been in effect from the beginning of warfare until the last few weeks of the 111th Congress.

Of course there was booing for that!

At the time of the vote -- five minutes ago -- only eight Republicans in the entire U.S. Senate supported eliminating Don't Ask, Don't Tell. It's safe to assume that no one on the stage supported this sexualization of the military, except maybe one of the nut candidates polling at 3 percent.

This is not an anti-gay position; it's a pro-military position. The basic idea is that sexual bonds are disruptive to the military bond.

Soldiers, sailors and Marines living in close quarters who are having sex with one another, used to have sex with one another or would like to have sex with one another simply cannot function as a well-oiled fighting machine. A battalion of married couples facing a small unit of heterosexual men would be slaughtered.

Coulter and her ideological peers of course forget that there are married military personnel who are capable of completing their duties. They also neglect to recognize that men and women who enroll on the armed services do so for a reason: to fight for our nation, not to get laid.

Ann Coulter Wants the World to Shut Up About the Gays: VIDEO

Coulter

Joy Behar had conservative pundit Ann Coulter as a guest last night. After a conversation about the debt ceiling negotiations, Behar asked Coulter about a few gay topics.

On Marcus Bachmann:

"Liberals are preying on the same kind of gay stereotypes they normally reject."

On praying away the gay. She thinks it's possible:

"There are some people who maybe weren't really gay to begin with...were maybe molested..."

On is she happy about marriage equality in New York?

"The only reason I might be happy is that maybe they will shut up about it. Okay, the media capital of the world has gay marriage. Can we move on now?

On Don't Ask, Don't Tell:

"I not only want 'don't ask, don't tell' for the military, I want 'don't ask, don't tell' for society. Just give me a week where we're not talking about the gays."

Watch: Chaz Bono and Ann Coulter Debate Religion On 'Real Time'

ChazBonoRealTime
Conservative darling Ann Coulter and LGBT activist Chaz Bono had quite the interesting back-and-forth about religion and psychiatry on last night's Real Time with Bill Maher.

It all began with Maher discussing how a Fox News psychiatrist diagnosed Maher as "misogynist" because of how the comedian talks about Bristol Palin and Michele Bachmann.

The psychiatrist, Dr. Keith Ablow, has previously decried J. Crew for an advert featuring a boy painting his nails, and also said that Bono's transgender identity is a "psychotic delusion."

"Bono’s contention that she is male as a psychotic delusion—a fixed and false belief," Ablow wrote in an article Fox later removed.

When asked whether she would go to such a psychiatrist, Coulter, who agrees with Ablow's assessment of Maher, says, "I wouldn't go to a psychiatrist, period, because like Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin and everyone else you despise, I do believe in God... We don't need shrinks."

Bono counters Coulter's claim, saying he believes in both God and psychiatry: "I’ve gotten great use of therapy and I also believe in God. So, I don’t look at them as two mutually exclusive things. I want all the help I can get." Amen.

The conversation then veers off toward the News of the World scandal, our criminal justice system and how Madonna wants to "take down" Sarah Palin.

Ann Coulter: If My Son Told Me He Was Gay 'I'd Tell Him He Was Adopted and Ask for Help Redecorating'

Acoulter

Ann Coulter, who refused to answer a question from Piers Morgan this week on what she would do if her child was gay, is asked the same question by Sean Hannity, Think Progress reports.

Says Coulter: "Obviously I'd tell him he was adopted, ask for some help redecorating the dining room."
