Marie Osmond Speaks Out for Marriage Equality: VIDEO

Marie Osmond tells Diane Sawyer she believes in marriage equality:

"The God that I believe in is a god of love, not fear. I don't tell my children if you're not good you're going to Hell. I tell my children that God will be there for them when they struggle. That's the God I believe in...I believe in [my lesbian daughter's] civil rights, as a mother. I think my daughter deserves everything that she desires in life. She's a good girl. She's a wonderful child. I don't think God made one color flower. I think he made many..."

Marie's oldest brother Alan and his wife served as emcees for a rally this week "benefitting the protection of marriage between a man and a woman" at the Utah capitol.

Marie Osmond to Oprah: 'My Son Was Not Gay'

Marie Osmond appears on Oprah today to discuss the suicide of her son, Michael Blosil, and she addresses speculation that arose after his death about whether he killed himself over his sexuality, ABC News reports.

Says Osmond: "My son was not gay. He wanted to be married and have a family and travel all over the world. And it wouldn't matter if he was. I have a daughter who is gay, and it was my daughter who was offended by it, like, 'What? All gay kids commit suicide?' She really wanted it cleared up."

Roseanne Doesn't Hold Back On The Mormon Church

Roseanne Roseanne has taken to her blog to blame both the Mormon Church and Marie Osmond for the suicide of Osmond's son. In a post titled "Marie osmonds poor gay son killed himself" Roseanne proceeds to explain why the teenager, who had been reportedly fighting depression, took his own life last week. She continues:

"because he had been told how wrong and how sick he was every day of his life by his church and the people in it. Calling that "depression" is a lie!

Yet the Osmonds still talk lovingly about their church, saying nothing about its extremely anti-gay Crusade. Marie also has a gay daughter! Hey, I want her and all the gay kids in the world to know that they are just fine being gay and that they deserve love and respect instead of insults and rebuke! I have gay people in my family and my circle of friends and I am kicking bigot ass and taking names!"
