Gay Dad Chauffeurs His Adorable Young Son In New Web-Series - VIDEO

Frank Lowe, the parenting writer at The Advocate, has started his own weekly web-series called Driving Mr. Briggs in which he will drive and talk with his precicous young son Briggs.

In the premiere episode, Briggs mentions that he’s just shared an innocent first kiss with a lady friend of his — they bonded over monster trucks. Frank also discusses how to share cookies and reminds his son just how beautiful he is.

Regarding the series, Lowe says, “The premise is essentially just me driving the little man around to various places and at various times. We have hilarious banter in the car, and he often tells me off, which is priceless. I hope it does well, and again, would love for it to inspire gay youth to start families.”

‘Tough Love’ Webseries Offers a Humorous Look at What It’s Like to Come Out to Another Gay Person: VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-04-21 at 6.08.39 PM

Steven Bell and Blaire Wendel’s webseries about two roommates in New York’s “third-coolest borough,” has released a new episode that explores what its like to come out to your gay best friend.

The Huffington Post reports:

"My favorite part about working on this episode was dealing with what it's like for a person to come out to another gay person," Bell told The Huffington Post. "Coming out to your family is tough, but coming out to your gay best friend can be even tougher. There can be weird feelings of, 'I thought I knew you!' and 'Being gay was supposed to be my thing!' and playing with this new dynamic between the characters is creating some really exciting possibilities for future episodes."

Gay Web Series ‘Eastsiders’ Returns, Seeks Funding For Season 2 On Kickstarter: VIDEO

Eastsiders, the popular web series that focuses on the aftermath of infidelity on a gay couple living in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Silver Lake (what some might term LA’s answer to Brooklyn), is back for a second season. Season 1 was picked up by LOGO Online but now the show’s creators are turning to Kickstarter for help getting things off the ground for the show's next chapter.

From creator and star Kit Williamson:

“I'm so excited to take the show back where it started: in the fans' hands, on Kickstarter. This is a very unique moment in time where audiences have the power to say what kind of stories they want to see told. We've been so lucky to have found an amazing community of viewers that have been with us from day one, and continues to grow every day. I hope they want to see more from us, because I am so excited to continue telling this story.”

Season 1 raked in the accolades, winning Best Web Drama at the 2013 LA Weekly Awards, Best Ensemble at the Indie Series Awards and a Satellite Award nomination. The show stars Van Hansis, who memorably played Luke of Luke and Noah (a.k.a. ‘Nuke’) on the daytime drama As The World Turns, and creator Williamson, who has appeared on Mad Men and on the New York stage in Talk Radio with Liev Schreiber.

Season 2 will see the return of memorable cast members such as John Halbach, Traci Lords, Sean Maher, Matthew McKelligon and Constance Wu along with the addition of new players such as Willam Belli, whom you will recall from Nip/Tuck, his RuPaul's Drag Race days and his role as one third of Detox.

Web Series ‘Wallflowers’ Explores The Lives Of The Hopelessly Single: VIDEO

Just out today is Episode 2 in the second season of Kieran Turner’s web-series, “Wallflowers." The first season introduced us to a boisterous band of New York singletons that meet weekly for a support group catering to the romantically challenged. The show focuses on both gay and straight relationships and the discord and dysfunction inherent to both. According to Turner,

“In Wallflowers, there are straight, gay and bisexual characters. But they’re characters first. I wanted to explore what all these different types of people go through in their search to find love, and do it in the most honest way possible. Those are the stories I want to tell, and that I've always told. I really despise stereotypes of any kind, especially gay ones. They're insulting and reductive and I feel like sometimes our creative community relies on them way too heavily in order to get a laugh. I think we’re better than that and we've moved past it."

Season 2 finds former child star turned successful casting director Bryce (Patch Darragh) on the ropes with love when he meets a bewitching musician, Alex (John Halbach, pictured above, whom you may recognize from his work on “Eastsiders”).

Watch the attraction bloom in the season 2 opener and episode 2, AFTER THE JUMP…

Season 1 is available in its entirety and can be viewed HERE on Stage 17.

Hollywoodland, a New Gay Web Series: VIDEO

Hollywoodland is the first installment of a new web series by Joseph Baken about the people who live in Hollywood. Something tells me this particular grouping and the 'Day Drunk Gays' operate in the same circles.

Starring Baken, Michael Airington, Justin Kelly, and Willam Belli (yes, that Willam).

The 'Day Drunk Gays' are Sooooo Tired: VIDEO

How tired are the Day Drunk Gays? So very tired.

Past episodes of the web series have tackled tacky shorts, the pornstar waiter, the bottomless brunch, hook-up apps, and talking fashion and gossip.
