House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said today that Congress, which has 30 days to review District legislation and has the ability to block it, won't be touching this week's decision by the D.C. Council to recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere, HRC reports: “I don't think the Congress should intervene there in terms of their recognition of marriages in the states that allow them."
Pelosi also said there was movement in the House on a variety of LGBT issues, but that pressing for the repeal of DOMA wasn't one of them.
