As an elite member of the Chicago Gay Hockey Association, Stephen helped organize the historical appearance of the NHL's Stanley Cup trophy and the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2010 Chicago Pride Parade – the first time a trophy of that caliber has been featured in a gay pride parade. Stephen received the Windy City Times’ 30 Under 30 Award in 2011. Stephen also founded the successful Out Rock Stage dedicated to out musicians and allies, which is affiliated with the popular, international Out Rock television show he produces on GayChicagoTV and GayTVontheGo.
