Kriss Marr proposed to Lauren-Joy Goss on September 15th with a surprise full musical of their relationship performed by friends.
Lauren-Joy says that as they are both from conservative backgrounds, many of their friends and family members didn't know that they are gay.
A few days after the proposal, both came out on Facebook.
Lauren-Joy says:
“The amount of love and support we received was overwhelming. People who I thought would never approve or accept my sexuality have sent me texts and messages saying how proud they are of the courage we have shown and how happy they were for us. I wanted to share this story because with the news of the gay couple attacked in PA I wanted to remind the world the love overrules all! People who we thought for sure would shun us have welcomed us with love.”
