The first trailer for the upcoming movie, X-Men: Apocalypse, has been released and, like its title suggests, it's all about the end of the world.
Directed by Bryan Singer, X-Men: Apocalypse sees the return of the world's first mutant who's been hibernating for a really long time. He was apparently worshipped as a god (Amun Ra, Krishna, etc) in ancient times and now he awakes in 1980 and is disillusioned with what he sees.
Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
Dramatic.
The trailer also gives us glimpses of some of the most beloved characters from the X-Men universe morphing into the iconic heroes we know them as today–especially Professor X.
X-Men: Apocalypse also stars Oscar Isaac, Olivia Munn, Rose Byrne, Evan Peters and Nicholas Hoult.
