Jack Higgins, a 14-year-old contestant on Britain's Got Talent, stunned and moved the judges and audience with an emotional performance to Great Big World's ballad “Say Something (I'm Giving Up on You)”.
Higgins then broke down as he revealed that he was bullied for being a ballet dancer and called gay by the boys at school over his love of dance.
“People was calling me names. Getting bullied, saying I was gay and I danced like a girl and ballet was for girls.”
Said Simon Cowell to the young dancer: “You know the one thing that bullies don't like? They don't like it when you do well. I can see how hard you've worked for this moment and I congratulate you Jack.”
Added David Walliams: “It was a really Billy Elliot moment for me. It was so moving. Every movement had meaning and emotion.”
