A Portland man has been arrested after threatening to bomb an apartment complex for people living with HIV occupied by mostly gay men, using homophobic slurs, and warning he'd “kill all you people.”
KOIN reports: ‘Scott Wayne Smith has been charged with one count of intimidation. In an affidavit signed by Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Melissa Marrero, Smith is said to have used a homophobic slur against two residents of Hopewell Apartments, an apartment building located in southwest Portland. The complex is described as a residence for “individuals living with HIV or AIDS.” Smith also reportedly threatened to “kill all you people.” The resident who called police said Smith had been harassing him and other gay residents of Hopewell Apartments over a period of weeks.'
Smith has pleaded not guilty and is in custody.
