The boy’s parents contacted Garbacik in June after finding out their son was being called names such as 'gay, fag, homo and queer' by other players. Kaletha told Garbacik he was aware of the comments, but called it 'joking and humor' and 'just boys being boys.'"

  1. The gays-can-commit-crimes-too articles are a nice change of pace.

  2. It is disgusting for Cindy Sheehan to even draw any sort of parallel between herself and Harvey Milk.

  4. Good for Arnold! I am glad that Conan the Republican is breaking with party lines and opposing question 8!

Then again, he did pose for Maplethorpe...

  7. Whenever “Time” magazine publishes an article by their resident out fag, John Cloud, which, unfortunately, they are doing more frequently, one either gets an interesting article, involving some research and too many polysyllables rarely used beyond the spaces within a crossword puzzle, or a disturbing dump of yellow crap that could easily pass for a hit piece by some antigay Troglodyte [and too many polysyllables rarely used...].

His latest hatchet job on other homos, linked above, demonstrates two things: 1. A group of extremely wealthy gays have chosen to maintain a low profile while sharing their wealth to defeat homohating politicians; and, 2., something has caused Cloud to try his best to publicly and pointlessly rain on their parade.

Consider his word choices, which are bound to appear near you soon in an Antigay Industry fundraising letter/ad:

“Gay Mafia,” “clandestine group,” “you won't find [their] name on a letterhead or even on the Internet,” “secret gay,” “secretive organization,” “the ‘Gay IRS’," “operated in stealth, without accountability,” “web of connections,” “secrecy”—he even compares them to disgraced neonazi Nixon and huge illegal contributions made to him by fellow fascist Clement Stone.

It’s almost as illogical and indefensible—and ultimately anti gay progress whether he intended it to be or not—as his cover story two years ago which could be preposterously summed up as, “Gay kids’ problems? WHAT gay kids’ problems?”

Earth to Cloud: maybe the dirty laundry about your breakup with your boyfriend you publicly shared in “Time’s” pages a few months ago still has more psychic stink on it than you thought. Maybe it’s the brain damage caused by all the alcohol and drugs you admitted to resorting to. Maybe it’s just that the “clandestine, secret blah blah blah group” hasn’t invited you to any of their parties [Tim Gill’s 50th birthday party five years ago is still talked about with awe—by those who were there].

In short, whatever your reason, with friends like you who needs enemas as the saying goes? Instead of shooting poison arrows at this group which has had more success in defeating homohating politicos than HRC and NGLTF combined, why aren't you singing their praises? And, generally, why don’t you pull your head out of your ass and become a part of the solution to ongoing LGBT equality rather than the problem?

PS: Despite the impression one would get from your breathy tones, stories have been printed about them before. You really should research more before attempting to pass yourself off as Johnny Scoop, Cub Reporter.

  8. Of course I am happy that Arnold published that he is against 8 - I just wish he would have been a bit more vocal. His support is just going to be lost in all the noise.

  10. Madge is a fruitcake and the sad part is, she's fucking with the lives of her children.

And "The Faith Healer of Olive Street" seems awfully formulaic to a prize winner.

  11. I also found the Time piece homophobic/conspiracy-fear-mongering masquerading as political analysis- didn't know the author was gay(!) Time would not publish a piece like that about another minority group - say Jews- insinuating that targeted political donations to protect our rights and safety are sinister. Why don't they write about all the out-of -state money pouring in to CA to support Prop. H8?

  12. “I also found the Time piece homophobic/conspiracy-fear-mongering masquerading as political analysis”
Well said Hank and I completely agree.
Mr. Cloud is one of the most pathetic gay writers I have ever read. He comes across as a very lonely bitter man who despises his on community. I have yet to read one word written from him that supports any type of equality for Gays.

  13. Did they try the left-eye-gaze test on cats? Because to say that only dogs can read human emotions is news to me. My cats know when I'm sad, happy, angry, etc. I'm tired of the dog bias in this country ...
