UPDATE: And the Pope has been chosen.
Rob Thomas, Kristen Bell, and the cast of Veronica Mars (with Warner Bros. blessing) has launched the biggest Kickstarter project of all time, and they're already almost halfway to their initial goal of $2 million.
Life has taken Veronica away from Neptune. In the years since spoiling Keith's chances to be reelected sheriff, Veronica hasn't taken a case. But something big is about to bring her back home and back to her calling. My goal is to include as many of your favorite characters as possible. It is, after all, time for Veronica’s 10-year high school reunion. Keep in mind that the more money we raise, the cooler movie we can make. A two million dollar fundraising total probably means cross words are exchanged at the class reunion. Three million? We can afford a full-on brawl. Ten million? Who knows...

Flight Attendant Goes the Extra Mile for Gay Couple Flying JetBlue and Serves as Witness for Their Wedding
JetBlue has posted a charming tale on its blog about one of its flight attendants who made a couple of gay customers very, very happy:
When our Inflight crewmembers Nickeloa, Virginia and Daniel heard that an engaged couple was on board their recent BUR-JFK flight—en route to City Hall in NYC for their wedding— they got ridiculously excited to make the flight special for them. The couple, Rick and Liam, were so touched by the amazing customer service that they wrote us a note overflowing with kudos for our three rockstars. Not only did Virginia serve as the couple’s witness on her day off, but she made a stop at the New York institution, Billy’s Bakery, and picked up their Famous Icebox Cake and some cupcakes to celebrate.
You can read the couple's letter on JetBlue's site, and hope you get service this good next time you fly!
Former Polish President Lech Walesa won't be charged with a hate crime for saying gay lawmakers have no right to sit on the front benches in Parliament, calling them a minority who should be "behind a wall."
The AP reports:
[Walesa's remarks] prompted Ryszard Nowak, director of the National Committee for the Defense Against Sects and Violence, to file a complaint with prosecutors in Gdansk, Walesa’s hometown. He said Walesa was promoting the hatred of a sexual minority.
But Renata Klonowska, head of the regional prosecutor’s office in Gdansk, said Wednesday that investigators found Walesa did not commit a crime under Polish law.
Walesa may, however, lose the street named for him in San Francisco.
SpaceX's experimental rocket Grasshopper, which can take off, hover, and land, reached a milestone this week, doubling its highest leap to date (24 stories or 80.1 meters (262.8 feet), hovering for approximately 34 seconds and landing safely). And this time it even had a lil man (Johnny Cash?) aboard.
