Thomas Roberts Follows Up with Richard Socarides' Revelations About His Father and Gay Conversion Therapy: VIDEO

Activist and writer Richard Socarides sat down today with MSNBC's Thomas Roberts to follow up on the the video we posted yesterday in which Socarides talked about coming out to his father, who was a pioneer of so-called "gay conversion therapy."

Roberts asks Socarides about the interview and the recent father-gay son pairings that have been in the news lately — Congressman Matt Salmon and his son, and Senator Rob Portman and his son.

"Man Oh Man":

The budding friendship of Adam Colton and Sam Peters becomes a full-fledged bromance. The passion is palpable, and the only way that they can express this uncontrollable, burning itch is to dance.

Marriage Equality Bill to Be Introduced This Week in Delaware; Governor Says He Will Sign: VIDEO

Delaware Governor Jack Markell will sign a marriage equality bill if one comes across his desk, he told students at the University of Delaware yesterday.

And a bill is beginning its journey this week, according to the News Journal:

“It can happen here in Delaware and it can happen this year,” Markell told the audience tonight. “But it will only happen if you do your part to make it happen.”

The gathering at the University Of Delaware Trabant center this afternoon was a rallying call to get students and others energized about the push to make Delaware the 10th state to legalize same-sex marriage.

A bill to legalize same-sex marriage in Delaware is expected to be pre-filed in the Delaware House of Representatives on Thursday, before lawmakers return to Dover next week. Rep. Melanie George Smith, a Bear Democrat, is expected to sponsor the bill, shepherding the marriage proposal through the General Assembly. Smith sponsored a 2011 bill allowing same-sex civil unions in Delaware.

FOX News Anchor Megyn Kelly Asks Hate Group Leader Tony Perkins Why Gay Activists are So Intolerant: VIDEO

Near the end of a segment about the suicide of Rick Warren's son, FOX News anchor Megyn Kelly turned her attention to the issue of gay rights, and seemed to support hate group leader Tony Perkins' and other religious right hatemongers' assertions that Christians are being victimized and oppressed by those who support equality.

KELLY: A lot of people thought, think, that Pastor Warren is on the wrong side of the gay marriage issue. You can relate to him in this way – not the being on the wrong side, I’m not passing a judgment on that – but you also oppose gay marriage and have been the subject of attacks, and it seems like some, not all, but some of those who want tolerance and acceptance, in their effort to get it, are very willing to pass judgment, alienate, attack, and go about it in a way that may be undermining the very thing they seek.

PERKINS: Absolutely, I think you’re absolutely correct. I mean, just to show a little bit of human compassion to a parent who has lost a child would go a long way in showing that they just want to be accepted and enjoy tolerance.

(via equality matters)

ADDENDUM: Jeremy Hooper notes how the media should really behave when Tony Perkins is around.
