Great White sharks are plentiful off the coast of South Africa. Attracting them with bait from your boat is not encouraged, though tourist companies in South Africa frequently do.

U.S. researchers are learning more and more about the Great White's migratory habits off the east coast of the United States as well. The sharks will migrate for hundreds of miles.
Massachusetts recently issued new emergency regulations over concern that the proliferation of Great White Sharks around Cape Cod would inspire a rise in shark tourism and encourage recreational boaters to attempt to attract them as a voyeuristic pursuit.
