Yesterday, after a report in the UK Mirror that two Premier League footballers plan to come out as gay, speculation began on social media as to which players the paper was talking about.
The chatter prompted Luke Shaw, a Manchester United left-back, to make it clear to everyone:

Shaw responded to a fan site's remarks, “The idiocy of these Luke Shaw rumours & he's not even gay! And so what if he is? He's a United player and we support him #MUFC”
Said Shaw: “it's not me so everyone can shut up now”.
