NOM’s Brian Brown is Tumescent Over Ted Cruz Win, Sees Gay Marriage Repeal on the Horizon

Anti-gay activist group National Organization for Marriage has reacted with unbridled joy at the news of Ted Cruz's god-ordained victory at the Iowa Caucus.

In a letter to the faithful, NOM President Brian Brown wrote:

We won a huge victory for marriage last night when Sen. Ted Cruz secured a tremendous win in Iowa, defeating the establishment and the elite and standing tall for grassroots conservatives in Iowa, and across the country.

Senator Cruz is a champion for marriage and religious liberty and his victory last night sends a powerful message to the nation's elite that the American people utterly reject the anti-constitutional, illegitimate ruling of the US Supreme Court redefining marriage. His win should send shockwaves throughout Washington, and provide real momentum for legislation to protect supporters of marriage from retaliation or punishment for standing for the truth of marriage in their daily lives and at work.

NOM is proud to have played a key role in supporting Sen. Cruz and helping him win in Iowa. Now we must turn our attention to New Hampshire, South Carolina and the coming states who will vote before we know it. Electing a marriage champion is critical to the cause of marriage and our ability to restore marriage to our nation's laws. We will continue to do everything in our power to elect Ted Cruz and to demonstrate to the nation that support for traditional marriage remains strong, an enduring value that the American people demand be restored to our nation's laws.

Brian also fist-bumped Mario Rubio, noting the candidate is “an articulate supporter of marriage and is a co-author of FADA [First Amendment Defense Act].”

Brown concluded the letter by desperately schilling for dwindling donations to the tune of “a minimum contribution of $35.”
