Adam Lambert debuted a snippet of his new single "Ghost Town" from his upcoming third album The Original High, due out later this year, on his Instagram today. Lambert revealed to Billboard that the house-style track will arrive on April 21 and that his new album will be his first with Warner Bros. Records. Lambert spoke about his album with Billboard in January stating that the album is a surprising new direction for him.

Said Lambert:

"I think people are going to be really surprised. The album feels like a new era for me - emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh, it feels new. It's still me. It's still stuff that fans know and love but it's a new chapter 100 percent."

Producers Max Martin and Shellback are executive producers behind The Original High. Lambert's sophomore album Trespassing topped the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2012, but Lambert later split from RCA Records and toured the world with Queen.

Adam Lambert Recreates His 'American Idol' Audition, Announces New Album: VIDEO

LambertThenNow

Adam Lambert's American Idol story has come full circle: from nervous audition-er to "superstar" judge. While shooting a round of auditions with Harry Connick Jr. and Jennifer Lopez for the upcoming season of the popular singing contest, Connick asked Lambert if he would be willing to recreate his original audition for the show from season 8. The current Queen frontman originally auditioned with the Queen uber classic, "Bohemian Rhapsody." Foreshadowing of things to come. Lambert took Connick's challenge and delivered a pitch perfect performance even better than his original.

Lambert has also just announced a new album that marks the beginning of a partnership with Warner Bros. music. Said Warner Bros. CEO Cameron Strang of his decision to sign Lambert after Lambert left RCA

"The potential is worldwide superstar. He has fans all over the world. He's he's got one of the great voices and he's coming into his own as a person and as a man. He more comfortable with himself and his artistic vision of himself and I think there's a confidence and a freedom that comes with having made more than one record."

Lambert's new album will see him re-team with Swedish pop god Max Martin ("Baby One More Time") and Shellback, who together gave Lambert the hits "Whataya Want From Me" and "If I Had You" off his debut album "For Your Entertainment."

Lambert told Billboard that this new album feels like a departure for him: "The album feels like a new era for me -- emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh, it feels new. It's still me. It's still stuff that fans know and love but it's a new chapter 100 percent."

The first single is due out in April.

Adam Lambert Hits All The Right Notes Performing 'Somebody To Love' With Queen on 'X Factor': VIDEO

Lambert

American Idol alumnus and current front-man for Queen Adam Lambert joined the legendary rock band for a performance of their hit, "Somebody to Love" on the U.K.'s X Factor Sunday night. Lambert has been touring and performing with the band since 2012, stepping into shoes once worn by the iconic Freddie Mercury, who no doubt inspired Lambert even before he joined up with Queen (they don't call him Glambert for nothing). Earlier, this year we shared Lambert's performance of "Somebody to Love" that traded heavily in Mercury's iconography. As NewNowNext points out, last night's performance saw Lambert and bandmates don AIDS memorial ribbons, touching additions that were perfectly poignant given that yesterday was World AIDS Day. Mercury passed away in 1991 from AIDS related causes.
