Two New Clips From 'Into The Woods' Tell a Tale Of Witches And Beans: VIDEO

Into The Woods Meryl Streep

Into the Woods, the film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's 1986 musical due out this holiday season, is starting to drop new clips and trailers left and right, and we've got two more to whet your appetite. First is a minute-long excerpt of the Meryl-Witch telling the poor barren couple (played by Emily Blunt and James Corden) what she needs to craft a potion to cure their curse. Then, you get to see the couple try and uncomfortably swindle poor young Jack (Daniel Huttlestone) out of his cow in exchange for a handful of "magic" beans.

You can't see the movie until Christmas Day, but you can watch the excerpts right now AFTER THE JUMP...

Blunt

The film stars Meryl Streep, (future gay icon?) Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Christine Baranski, Billy Magnussen, Daniel Huttlestone, Tracy Ullman, and Johnny Depp

Put on Your Fire-Retardant Armor for the New 'Mad Max' Trailer: VIDEO

Hardy

Moviegoers next summer will revisit the cult classic Mad Max franchise in a new film, Mad Max: Fury Road directed by George Miller. Miller directed Mel Gibson in the original 1979 film.

Theron

Miller had originally planned to cast Gibson in a fourth Mad Max film (after The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome), but the project spent years in development and when a new script from British comic creator Brendan McCarthy emerged, work began on Fury Road, eventually roping in Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and Nicholas Hoult who all appear perfectly cast for this franchise. No special guest cameo from Tina Turner though, as far as we know.

Enjoy, AFTER THE JUMP...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Walks 'The Walk' On Top Of The World Trade Center: VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 5.24.51 PM

A vertiginous teaser trailer is out today for The Walk, a new feature starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the French tightrope walker who made history on a high-wire strung across the World Trade Center in 1974. The CGI-heavy trailer features a swooping ride up the side of the South Tower to the roof where Levitt makes his first daring step onto the ledge of the building while taking in the commanding (not to mention heart-stopping) view of '70s-era New York.

The highly-anticipated film is directed by Robert Zemeckis (Flight, Cast AwayBack to the Future) and adapted from the Oscar-winning 2008 documentary Man On Wire, which told the true story of how acrobat Phillipe Petit, along with a band of clever accomplices, managed to rig a tightrope and take a walk between the Twin Towers. It was a feat that stopped traffic in New York, made worldwide news and served to humanize the monoliths that had risen over lower Manhattan.

Zemeckis, a director known for his tech-savvy, shot the film using a state-of-the-art 6K Red Epic digital camera in Montreal over the summer. The film will be released in 3D and Imax 3D in October, 2015. You can watch the tense teaser, AFTER THE JUMP...

FranzeseBackstage clips offer glimpses of on-set goofiness, kissing between co-stars, drinking in the wilderness, and interviews with Groff, Haigh, Bartlett, Tovey, Lannan, Alvarez, and Castillo.

Lauren Weedman's Doris becomes a bigger part of season 2 and finds (an apparently well-hung) love interest.

Says Haigh: "The fans should expect us going further, digging deeper. It's the show but bigger."

Matthew Shepard's Parents Head To Russia To Fight Anti-LGBT Intolerance: VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-11-20 at 8.02.02 PM

The parents of Matthew Shepard are heading to hostile territory in hopes of bringing a message of tolerance to Russia. Tomorrow, Dennis and Judy depart for St. Petersburg to attend the screening of a movie about their slain son and then move on to Moscow, where they hope to meet with parents of LGBT youth. In a country where gays are consistently harassed for spreading so-called "propaganda", the Shepards hope to bring a message of tolerance on their five-day trip. But given how entrenched anti-LGBT attitudes have become under the rule of Vladimir Putin, they know it won't be easy.

“Putin has made it so unhealthy to be LGBT or an ally,” Dennis Shepard told the AP in an interview about their trip. “It will take at least a generation to clean up the mess he’s made and get some acceptance.”

Their first stop will be a screening of Matthew Shepard is a Friend of Mine at the Side by Side Film Festival in St. Petersburg, an annual event since 2008 which has been promoting LGBT tolerance while drawing criticism from government officials there. But filmmaker Michele Josue, who was a close friend of Matthew's in high school, feels strongly about screening her film in a hostile environment.

"We've been preaching to the choir," she said of previous screenings in the U.S. "It's important to get our film seen by a community that didn't have access to it."

The film, which has been on the festival circuit this year, makes its NYC premiere tonight at the Doc NYC Festival. You can watch the moving trailer AFTER THE JUMP...
