Tom Daley is back with another life hack to help you get the body you want in 2016. This time Daley looks at carbs and how to integrate them into your diet. The main thing Daley wants you to know is simple: carbs are not the devil.
Says Daley, “Carbs are our primary energy source. Our bodies store carbs in the muscle and liver. When there's not enough glycogen stored and you're doing a workout or some form of activity you'll feel fatigues, you may find it more difficult to train hard, and you'll reduce your immune system's ability to function properly. Carbs should never be avoided but it is important to understand that all carbs are not alike.”
In other words, processed carbs like white bread and candy are not so great. Whereas brown rice and brown pasta are much better options. Daley adds, “The bottom line is, just be sensible with the carbs you're choosing to eat. Skip low nutrient desserts and focus on healthy whole grains, fruits and veggies for you to be able to fuel your body with the energy you need. ”
